Church Update 1-2-10

Dear Friends,

It was great to come back last week from holidays and see the church with such a vibrant
atmosphere to worship the Lord.We were amazed to see the number of people who came and
participated in the evening of prayer on Sunday night.
Our desire is to have a specific evening of prayer once a month to come together in earnest
worship and call upon the Name of Jesus. Amazing things happen when God’s people turn up the heat
in prayer, seek His face and follow His ways. God promises to hear us, to forgive us and heal our
land. May I encourage each member of the church this year, not to just wait for once a month
meeting, but to regularly petition heaven and ask for His guidance and direction in each step of
your journey.
In 2009 we established the MCLC core values as to how we do life. It is our desire that these
Core values be lived out as an authentic representation of true Christian community. We want to
reflect Christ to our world in all that we say and do. Our values will continue to be a driving
force that help us stay on track to reach the goals and objectives that the Lord has placed
before us.

We will run programmes and activities that bring the gospel message in a way
that is relevant to the current issues and needs of people living today.

a spirit of excellence.

We will be a welcoming community reaching out to people with love and compassion,
always embracing new people into the church.

Christ Centered

We believe that Christ is the best example for us to follow in behaviour, speech
and attitude.  All activities of the Church will therefore ebb a reflection of
the words and the actions of Christ Himself.

 

Holy Spirit Empowered

We will actively seek the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives,
who enables us to become like Christ and fulfil our life mission.

This year, our desire is to bring a strong testimony of Christ to the City of Mandurah. My hope
is that you will do all that you can to engage your heart and your hands in Partnering with other
members of the church to reach out with the gospel message.
Last year we saw approximately 60 new people asking Jesus to be the Lord of their life.  My prayer
is that this year we would work together to use every opportunity to see this number doubled in
2010.
Sue and I look forward to the challenges that are ahead and empowering members of the church to
see the great commission fulfilled. Matthew 28: 18—20
