2-2-11
Bringing my world into order:
Everything in life has some type of organisation, structure or mechanism that helps it to
function in the way that its maker determined.Take for example the engine of your car.
Amazingly designed to form a system of operation that helps you get faster from A to B.
Or perhaps your kettle, wonderfully costructed to contain water day after day to be boiled
and shaped so that with ease we can pour it into our cups. A handle that doesnt heat up so we
can pick it up without getting burnt, etc, etc.
Everything that we use on a daily basis has a design, an order that allows it to function to
its full capacity.
As human beings we also have an order set into our frame that allows us to become everything
that our creator intended. However, the unique difference in our case is not found in the
natural order of this world, but exists in each of us being in connection with a supernatural
God who cannot be seen with the natural eye.
He is the invisible, omnipotent, all knowing supreme ruler of all things created.
In the bible we are given a clear and simple description of how to keep our lives in His divine
order, functioning in the fulness.
This order is intended to be a foundation from which the activities of your life can flow.
At times we try to make our occupations, relationships, possessions, etc the foundation that
look to, to be fullfilled. Unfortunately these things only provide a short season of joy that
will eventually run out. Plugging in to these as your source will not provide that deep inner
peace and hope for the future. It might be fun, but one day the fun will run out. It might be
powerful, but one day the power will stop, it might be beautiful, but one day the beauty will
fade. The writer of the book Psalms described our life in these terms.
Psalm 39:5 You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.”
In other words, no matter whether we expect to live to 49 or 99, our life is too short to mess
around going up dead end roads that lead us nowhere.
If we want to build on an eternal foundation that gets greater and greater, then I would direct
us again to the writer of Psalms who wrote these amazing words about the divine order of life.
Psalm 37:4DELIGHT yourself also in the LORD,And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Delight:
1) to be SENSITIVE,
2) to be HAPPY about,
3) TO take exquisite DELIGHT,
4) to make merry over (CELEBRATE),
In simple terms, when we get our foundation right (Delighting in the Lord), then He will provide
the experience of meeting our deepest needs, even the hidden desires.
When we live sensitively (Tuned in),to God; When we live happy about (In friendship) with God;
when we live with exquisite delight (Exited) about God; when we live Merry (In the Joy) of God,
The God Himself will cause His lifeflow of supplying the needs that we have.
When our worldview as priority No 1. is the pursuit of our personal needs, then we can miss out
on the abundant supply of life that comes from our heavenly Father.
Jesus Said: Matthew 6: 33 NLTSeek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
My challenge to each of us is not to be trapped into the dead end road of self reliance and
self gratification. This will not end in the destiny that God intended for our lives.
Instead - focus on delighting in your creator, allow Him to be the centre of your universe
around which our dreams and desires revolve.
If we will dare to have a go, I promise you a life that will take us beyond what you ever
believed possible.
Being on Leave has given me a wonderful opportunity to refocus my own heart and experience the
powerful light of God shining His love afresh into my soul.
I believe The greatest experince a man can have is to know God as friend and father.
Both Sue and I pray that you will have an amazing year full of His abundant grace and strength.
Lots of Love and Blessings
Ps Phil & Sue
