Update 23-12-10

Isaiah 9: 6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting
Father, The Prince of Peace.

Dear Friends,
It is incredible to consider that you and I are the object of God’s deepest desire. Everything
in this creation has been made for us to know the creator as our Heavenly Father.
Creation itself shouts out the glory of God, His miracles and wonders are everywhere. From the
smallest ant, to the gigantic blue whale, from the most intricate colours painted on the flower
of an orchid to the vast expanse of the universe.
Yet in all this, God is concerned about you and about me. The prophet Isaiah wrote about that
desire when he penned the amazing words.
“For unto us a child is born” - A child born, not just to fullfill the purpose of the divine,
but, somehow that purpose involved us, was because of us and was to be made known to us.
Make no mistake, God is passionate about the life of every human being alive today. So deep and
real is this passion, that He got His own Son to come to this world in our form. To experience
all things common to man and finally to die on the cross. He has identified with our mortality
in every way.
To know this, helps us be able to face the future with confidence. We can be sure that no matter
how tough our circumstance or how disconnected we feel. God is still able to make His grace
abound in every way.
We read in Hebrews 2 the incredible words that reflect deeply our situation:

Hebrews 2: 6, 7

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visit him? Thou madest
him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him
over the works of thy hands:

The greatest miracle of Christmas is that it reminds us of the unconditional and relentless love
that God has for mankind. It is this love that can transform a human heart, can open blind eyes,
bring back the mind of a person suffering deep depression to a place of peace hope and joy.
Our prayer this Christmas is that you as a member of God’s family would know the deep intimate
comfort of His love. That you would be one who passes on that love using whatever gifts
abilities and talents that God has so graced you with.
Have a very happy and Holy Christmas for 2010.
The Riches of His love be upon you.
Ps Phil & Sue

A WONDERFUL YEAR
2010 has been an amazing year with many highlights to reflect and thank God about.
It has been wonderful to see so many people engaged in the service of our Lord who are very
passionate in what they do. It has been the faithfulness and dedication of so many in the
fellowship that has allowed us to be engaged in so many activities as a church.
This year we have had:
Marriage Courses, Divorce Care for Kids, x2 amazing Camps for the youth and the congregation,
Easter Outreaches on the Foreshore and in schools, Compassion project Indonesia, A Family Fun
Day, Launched WWCC Cards for volunteers,Provided Child Protection Training for Congregation
Volunteers, Partnership Lunches, Club 31 womens event, Encounter Weekends, Weekly life groups,
Rockit Youth in the Community, Launching of MentorRings and link groups, Heaven’s Gates—which
had 75 salvations, The Christmas Ballet with an attendance of over 600 people, The Valiant Man
programme, The Alpha Course and a New Christians Course as well as our regular Sunday Services
and ministry that takes place weekly.
I believe God has been with the church as we have sought to Love our Community, Lead our
Congregation and Empower the Core (Leaders) to be effective in serving others.
We would like to say a very special thankyou to all the amazing volunteers and servants who have
taken their time and energy to give their best and shown the Love of God in our various
ministries. It’s our prayer that this Christmas break will be an awesome time of refreshing and
preparation for you and your loved ones.
Be Bold and be brilliant
Ps Phil

BUILDING THE NEW FACILITIES AT LAKES RD
In 2011 it will be our goal to well and truly establish the building of our new facilities at
Lakes rd.There are a number of steps that are being put in place in order to achieve this goal.
At present, we are seeking confirmed building approval on the land.Following building approval,
the processes are as follows.
1. Review of design needs with ministry leaders and congregation.
2. Cost analysis and staging development for cash flow.
3. Presentation of Cost analysis to SGM to vote on building proposal
4. Stage 1 development phase of building
5. Stage 2 development phase of building
Karen Henry from City of Mandurah Town Planning has now received all the amendments required
from our building proposal in regards to drainage, traffic access and impact, etc.
Karen will have a report ready to be presented to City Council in February 2011.
If our plans are approved in February, then preparation for detailed drawings can begin.
Items to be worked through from a congregational perspective:
1. Functionality of new facilities in terms of now and future needs.
2. Expansion and growth  capacity of Lakes Rd facilities
3. Overall cost of project in relation to the stages of building development.
4. Cash flow repayments monthly
5. Existing equity base for borrowing.

COMPASSION PROJECT INDONESIA
This year, MCLC has engaged in partnership with compassion to sponsor 100+ children in the
Northern Jakarta region of Indonesia. We would like to thank those members of the church who
have graciously sponsored children as part of this mission project. At this stage, the Churches
and schools in the Mandurah region have sponsored about 70 children, 37 of those kids being
sponsored directly by members of MCLC. Your investment into these young lives now, gives them a
potential future that would not be possible without your support. I pray that you and your
family would be richly blessed in every way.
Thank-you to Steve and Danielle as they provide an amazing example of grace for us all through
their leadership, inspiration and personal sacrifice to see these precious lives changed
forever. If you have not had opportunity to be involved, and would like to be involved in
radically changing the life of another human being, then I would encourage you to give Steve or
Danielle a call, and find out how you can be a part of this wonderful venture for Christ.

MARRIAGE COURSE / DIVORCE CARE 4 KIDS
Earlier this year we ran two outstanding programmes in the Church that were an incredible
blessing to congregation and people from the City alike.
The Marriage Course has been an effective tool in strengthening marriages for many years. It
combines the brilliant teaching of Nicky & Silla Lee, as well as live interviews with couples
who have worked through many of the struggles common to every marriage. The opportunity to sit
together in an intimate setting and make time to discuss and work through these challenges is
priceless. We would like to thank Ps Dee and Michael Ducrow for their facilitation role over the
last 3 years. We would also like to thank Ps Ron & Karin Holt for their efforts in running
excellent marriage courses in 2010.
Next year the Marriage Course will be running again and we look forward to the wonderful
transformation and inspiration that couples will receive. For More info re 2011:

My final thanks I would like to extend to the team who led DC4K. What an amazing avenue of
healing and encouragement for those who have been through broken families. Thankyou to Mark and
Jacqui Burrage who led a fantastic team of dedicated people to love and care for the children.
It was wonderful to witness young lives being touched in such a practical way to help them move
forward and to prepare to build their own lives in the future. We look forward to DC4K running
again in 2011 and believe that many lives will be healed and restored.
